You can help raise the bar on quality by getting involved and letting our leaders know that high-quality child care is important to you and your community.
Federal Watch through NACCRRA - The National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies Child care is a fact of life for many American families. Every day, nearly 12 million children under 5 spend time in some type of child care. Children of working mothers spend, on average, 36 hours a week in child care. If children are to start school with the skills to succeed, then they need access to high-quality child care. High quality care also enables parents to be reliable, productive employees. Unfortunately the supply of high quality care in the United States is severely limited. When quality is available it is often difficult for parents to afford. A stronger federal commitment to a quality child care system is necessary to ensure that children can learn and families can work. Now is the time to contact the elected officials who represent YOU. Let them know that you want the quality of care strengthened in every community. Contacting your elected officials is quick and easy. Every voice counts! Join thousands of Child Care Resource & Referral agencies, child care providers, and parents to make high-quality child care a reality for all families. The campaigns below will help you to contact your elected officials about these very important issues. Strengthen the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)! The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) allows child care providers nationwide to provide nutritious meals and snacks to hundreds of thousands of children. This federal program is scheduled to be reauthorized in this Congress. NACCRRA is working with other national organizations to improve the program to make it more accessible for child care providers. Good nutrition is essential for healthy child development. Email your Senator and Representative today to urge that CACFP be strengthened and expanded!
