Early Childhood Alliance (ECA) welcomes Dr. Amber Targgart, Ed.D., as new CEO of the organization. An experienced leader in the education
field, Amber will succeed Madeleine Baker and assume responsibilities on June 30, 2022. With 20 years of experience as CEO, ECA wishes Madeleine Baker all the best as she looks forward to a new adventure in retirement.
Amber is currently serving as the principal of West Lafayette Elementary School in West Lafayette, Indiana. Beginning as a teacher, she has 21 years of experience in public education and a strong passion for providing every child a solid foundation for success early in life. She believes that combining the right educational professionals with dedicated and caring families will give every child the opportunity for optimum growth.
Throughout her career in the public school system, Amber has developed and implemented a variety of successful initiatives to better the services for children, families, and staff. Along with her most recent role as principal, Amber served as the Title 1 District Coordinator, the High Ability District Coordinator, and the District State Reporting Administrator while at West Lafayette Elementary School.
Amber received her doctorate of education in educational administration and supervision from Ball State University in 2017, her master’s degree in educational administration and supervision from Ball State University in 2006, and her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Ball State University in 2001. Amber also has a school superintendent license.
