Responding to Childhood Trauma: Building Resiliency in Our Children (Webinar)
October 23 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm| Free
Traumatic experiences not only impact young children emotionally but they also impact their ability to learn. Trauma is a risk factor for nearly all behavioral health disorders. Early intervention can assist in reducing the impact and in many cases help children recover from traumatic experiences. Early childhood educators can play a vital role in their recovery. This webinar will offer some facts related to the impact of early childhood trauma on a young child’s brain development, some guidance and strategies to support young children to help prevent or minimize trauma. Objectives: 1. Acquire facts of childhood trauma and its impact on brain development. 2. Learn about typical traumas young children experience and how to identify signs of trauma. 3. Obtain strategies to prevent or minimize trauma and its triggers to support young children in the classroom setting.
