Share your room but not your bed with baby. Place your baby on his/her back to sleep in a safety approved crib. Use a firm sleep surface or mattress with a tight-fitting sheet. Do not put anything else in the crib, including blankets, toys, pillows, crib bumper.
Schedule your well-baby visits as recommended at 2 weeks; 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 months; and 2 years. Your health care provider will check your child’s growth and development. If there are concerns, early intervention is important.
Children under two years old should be actively playing without any screen time. Pediatricians recommend no more than one hour of screen time per day for two-year-olds.
Children learn through active play and conversations, including infants. Talk about the things around them during routine activities – diapering, feeding, car rides, etc. For more age-appropriate tips, visit brightbytext.org
